Amsoil Choices For Mini Cooper

We recently got an ad in our email from an aftermarket enthusiast car market supplier. We noticed the inaccuracy in the advertisement that their “cold air intake” filter offered superior filtration and more filtration area than any of their suppliers. I really doubt it! To make that claim wouldn’t one want the customer to have the comparison data? What are the absolute efficiency numbers at a given particle size or the nature of the filter media?

I won’t say ours are the best but here’s some data to compare. These filters do have more capacity – up to 50 times the capacity than a oil wetted gauze, and are rated 98% at 2-microns. The cost isn’t much different and in many cases – the same.

John Cooper Works $42.00 nanofiber amsoil filter.

Well here is the superior filter: Our NANOFIBER which filters down to 2-microns 98% and has significantly more surface area.

What’s the price of theirs? $99 and no labeled guarantee for cellulose?.

We have other sizes as well.

Choose cotton or nanofiber

Hey, how about a pre filter to extend the life even more in rough service? Order EaPF-26.

protect your Mini Cooper intake filter

Here is ours fitted to a popular Alta Intake system. We simply used the EAAU3570 (Fits Cooper Works too) with our own adapter to fit the Alta unit. Then we fitted the unit with our Ea Pre-Filter (EAPF26). But there are several sizes for your particular needs. This is for the earlier models so the page needs to be updated.

I also tested the EAAU3050 and EAAU 3051 with the 3-inch flange and it will tighten up on the smaller ALTA flange.

To match other units to our filters please use this chart to select and call on the correct EAAU series air filter.

MiniCooper S fitted with Amsoil cold air intake filter.

Here's one of our pre-filters. Would also fit the John Cooper Works Filter

Looks nice and keeps filter clean in heavy dirt areas.

We also have the full line of MANN filters – Cabin air, etc.

What Are Pre-Filters?
Ea Pre-Filters fit over the top of existing air filters. These polyester mesh bags feature an industrial grade elastic band at the opening to ensure the pre-filter does not slide off.

Why Use Pre-Filters?
Racers and off-road enthusiasts subject their vehicles to some of the most severe conditions possible. These vehicles operate in areas of heavy dirt and mud that gets slung into every crack and corner, often clogging air filters. AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters are designed to keep larger particles from getting into and clogging the pleats of air filters. When an air filter is clogged, the engine loses horsepower and, in the case of Ea Air Filters, the filter must be cleaned. There is no vacuum or compressed air available on the race track or out in the swamp, but an Ea Pre-Filter is easily removed and shaken free of debris in seconds.

AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters are constructed with woven mesh that contains uniformly-sized openings. They are oil-free, so the dirt will not stick to the bag and create a loss of air flow and horsepower. Several Ea Pre-Filters are treated with a hydrophobic water repellent process that helps prevent moisture from damaging air filters. This proprietary process is done at the mill as the pre-filters are created, not sprayed on, so there is no loss of air flow. While Ea Pre-Filters are effective in repelling water, they are not waterproof.

Ea Pre-Filters prevent particles down to 0.005” from getting to the air filter without significantly reducing air flow. Particles larger than 0.005” generally just fall off the pre-filter.

Will Not Block Air Flow
AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters will not cause any significant reduction in air flow. In fact, AMSOIL EaAU and EaAR Filters allow more air flow than the engine can process, so adding an EaPF will not prevent a more-than-adequate amount of air flow from entering the engine.

Cleaning Instructions
To clean AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters, shake off any excess dirt and, if necessary, soak in soapy water. After soaking, agitate the EaPF to remove any remaining debris and grime, shake off any excess water and air-dry. Ea Pre-Filters used in racing applications should be inspected after every race to determine whether or not they require cleaning. Ea Pre-Filters used in regular applications should be cleaned every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. AMSOIL Ea Pre-Filters should be changed every six to 12 months, or as conditions dictate.
