Vehicle Look-up: Match AMSOIL Products to your model

AMSOIL 10W-30/SAE 30 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is formulated with premium synthetic base oils that exceed both 10W-30 multi-grade and SAE 30 straight-grade viscosity requirements for outstanding performance in modern and older diesel engines. Unlike conventional SAE 30 motor oils, AMSOIL Heavy Duty Diesel Oil has a naturally high viscosity index and does not contain paraffin (wax). It has a low pour point and qualifies for SAE 10W, making it an all-season multi-grade lubricant with a wide operating temperature range. AMSOIL Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is formulated without viscosity index (VI) improvers. This shear-stable formulation is designed to reduce viscosity loss and associated bearing and cylinder bore wear. AMSOIL 10W-30/SAE 30 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil contains premium additives with a high 12 TBN to neutralize acids from blow-by, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and high-sulfur diesel fuels. It helps protect against damaging piston deposits, ring sticking and sludge.

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API qualified synthetic motor oil back in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL The First in Synthetics® to do the best job protecting your equipment.

Performance

Where these viscosity grades are specified, AMSOIL 10W-30/SAE 30 Synthetic Diesel Oil provides outstanding performance as a straight-grade SAE 30 for older two- and four-stroke diesels and as a multi-grade SAE 10W-30 in modern four-stroke diesel and gasoline engines. AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is ideal for use in a wide variety of light- and heavy-duty applications, including agriculture, offroad construction, trucking, mining, industrial (pumps and generators) and personal automotive or commercial transportation. It is recommended for use with low or high-sulfur diesel fuels in standard, turbocharged or supercharged engines; all off-road engines and pre-2007 on-road engines.

  • SAE 10W-30 performance without VI improvers
  • Cost-effective replacement for conventional oils
  • Excellent shear stability
  • Outstanding wear protection
  • Superior protection over a broad range of operating temperatures
  • Extended service life

MIXING AMSOIL

AMSOIL ACD is compatible with conventional and synthetic motor oils, however, mixing AMSOIL ACD with other oils will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where AMSOIL ACD has been mixed with another product.

Aftermarket additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL ACD.

SERVICE LIFE

AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-30/SAE 30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (ACD) is recommended for extended drain intervals in engines that are unmodified and in good operating condition.

Diesel Engine Service

  • Three times (3X) OEM* recommendation, not to exceed 50,000 miles/600 hours or one year, whichever comes first. Drain intervals may be extended further with oil analysis.

Gasoline Engine Service

  • Two times (2X) OEM* recommendation, not to exceed 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

*Operating conditions and drain intervals for severe and normal service are defined by the OEM. Refer to your owner’s manual.

Note: Extended drain intervals are not recommended when using biofuels containing >10% ethanol or 5% biodiesel (B5). Follow OEM drain intervals or extend drain intervals with oil analysis.

AMSOIL Synthetic SAE30/10w30 Diesel Oil Product Code: ACD

A little about the AMSOIL ACD: The AMSOIL ACD is excellent for both diesel and gasoline engines. Advantages include low cost for a Synthetic motor oil and ideal for use in a wide variety of light and heavy-duty applications, including agriculture, off-road construction, trucking, mining, industrial (pumps and generators) and personal automotive or commercial transportation. It is recommended for use with low or high sulfur diesel fuels in standard, turbocharged or supercharged engines, including modern low emission diesels such as those equipped with EGR systems. AMSOIL (ACD) is formulated with premium synthetic base oils that exceed both 10W-30 multi-grade and SAE 30 straight-grade viscosity requirements for outstanding performance in modern and older diesel engines.

Unlike conventional SAE 30 motor oils, AMSOIL ACD has a naturally high viscosity index and does not contain paraffin (wax). It has a -36°F pour point and qualifies for SAE 10W, making it an “all season” multi-grade lubricant with a wide operating temperature range. AMSOIL ACD is formulated without viscosity index improvers (VI). This shear stable formulation stops viscosity loss and associated bearing and cylinder bore wear. AMSOIL ACD contains premium additives with a high 12 TBN to neutralize acids from blow-by, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and high sulfur diesel fuels. It protects against damaging piston deposits, ring sticking and sludge.

It’s our first choice for those needing a SAE-30 or 10W30 in vintage or classic automobiles who require the elevated ash or ZDDP elements for anti-wear properties. Cams, lifters, main bearings and other wear surfaces benefit from AMSOIL’s extreme resistance to sheer. AMSOIL’s ability to resist sheer and breakdown comes from the unique base stocks only available to AMSOIL. These have a film strength approximately 8.25 times that of normal Group II oils (petroleum oils) measured in PSI; and 6 times that of Group III oils or highly refined petroleum oils such as used by your typical oils labeled as “Fully Synthetic”.

AMSOIL Dealer Dorsett Wilson is amazed AMSOIL still has surprises to offer in product performance.
He discovered one of them in the recently reformulated AMSOIL Performance Improver (API) when he traveled from Houston, Texas to AMSOIL University in Superior, Wis. this spring.
“AU was a blast as always,” Wilson said. “Just when you think ‘surely they haven’t come up with anything startlingly new,’ they do. The new PI is one of those things.”
Wilson reports averaging around 21 miles per gallon on the trip from his home in Texas to Duluth, Minn. in his 2000 Ford Ranger.“
I was not completely convinced that the new PI was as good as people were saying at AU, so I decided to check it out,” he said.
Wilson put a bottle of PI in the tank when he refueled for his trip home. Then, he tallied the mileage at each of three gas tank fills on the way back to Houston.“
On the way home, the first tank refueling took 18 gallons and was 22.1mpg, the second refueling took 19.3 gallons at 22.9 mpg and the last refueling was with 18.5 gallons at 24.01 mpg,” he said. “The best fuel mileage I had ever received before was 23.7 mpg at around 15,000 miles on the odometer.”
The drive home showed Wilson the reformulated PI lived up to what he had heard.“When I arrived in Houston, I was convinced that the PI is an excellent product,” Wilson said.

Wilson also changed his wiper blades while at AMSOIL University.“I put new Trico wiper blades on and they are really great – very quiet and really wipe clean,” he said. “They are also the easiest to put on that I have found.”
